Redheaded Step Children

I am utterly exhausted after spending waaaaaaaayyy too much time on a project where there has been a significant gap between my client's vision and my own. It happens . . . sometimes even with the best of clients. I may try to persuade them otherwise, but sometimes there isn't time for the back and forth, or they have a very fixed idea in mind and that's that. In that situation, I give the client what they want. It's a commissioned work. In the end, it is their project, their responsibility, their risk. If I want to do what I want to do, well, then, I can do my own project. And I think I will.

Because I love my sweet, rejected, redheaded stepchildren. I do, I do. And I think they will be the start of the theme for my 2010 calendar . . . Japanese Tea Gardens and Tea Ceremony.
